Environment is very important when wanting to change something in your life. This especially true when we are talking about weight loss surgery, which requires a definite change of lifestyle and behaviour. But you need to start with simple changes which mean a lot if respected and internalized, no matter the type of surgery followed, either it is gastric bypass, gastric band surgery or gastric sleeve surgery.

There are some general rules we need to respect in order to successfully change the environment. First of all, we need to feel good about ourselves and transform our negative thoughts into positive thoughts. It is not easy at all, but it will help us see more our positive features and surround ourselves with positive people, which we need in order to maintain our path of weight loss and our healthy regime. More, it is extremely important to focus on the positive things and not waste energy on the negative aspects.

Then we need to understand our reactions and our choices. A weight loss surgery patient needs to understand when emotional eating appears and what is the difference between it and the real hunger, what feelings trigger it and what is the best way to stop it, if it is to join a support group or talk to a therapist or other things.

An important thing you permanently need to do is handle your stress well, monitor it and eliminate it through different techniques like relaxation, mediation, mindfulness techniques, hobbies or any other technique that makes you feel better.

Molding the environment you have is beneficiary for your journey as you feel in control and you will see the effects.
